Wilcox & Associates (Sandler Training Indiana) is pleased to announce two Fort Wayne non-profit organizations have been selected to receive one-year scholarships valued at $35,000 each: Beloved: Not Forgotten and Community Foundation of Greater Fort Wayne.

Brad Little, President & CEO of Community Foundation of Greater Fort Wayne was thrilled to receive the scholarship, saying "I am both honored and excited to be selected for the Sandler Non-for-Profit/Organizational Excellence Scholarship. As the Communiy Foundation begins work on a new Strategic Plan in 2019, one of the hot topics we continue to discuss is a desire to move from “good to great, to best in class” as an organization. As we wrestle with how to do that and what does that even look like, I’m hoping this opportunity will strengthen my work in that area and serve as both a guide and roadmap."
About Beloved: Not Forgotten
Beloved: Not Forgotten provides transformative care services to domestic minor sex trafficking victims in Indiana.
Sex trafficking is highly misunderstood and mostly unseen by the average person, but the reality is that it exists. In Fort Wayne, local police describe it as one of the fastest-growing crimes in our community. The danger is that it could happen to ANYONE.
Beloved: Not Forgotten was created to help victims heal and reclaim their lives. Dawnna Plummer, Executive Director and Founder of the organization spoke about receiving the Sandler Training scholarship: "We realize we are only reaching a fraction of the children who need our help and to achieve greater visibility for our services, we need to tell our story better while growing and empowering our board to help develop community awareness and solutions. We are confident that Sandler Training will help us achieve our goal to expand our donor base allowing us to better serve the community.”

Jim Wilcox, owner of Wilcox & Associates, launched the scholarship program in 2018 recognizing that non-profit organizations are faced with many of the same challenges as for-profit companies, including the need to strengthen core competencies and skills to better serve all stakeholders. "When meeting with non-profit boards and leaders, I often hear them talk about the importance of helping their communities and sometimes that means sacrificing internal development" said Wilcox.
